Growing green skills in Cardiff
Comments Off on Growing green skills in CardiffAs you may know we have been delivering a range of Skills for Sustainable Living workshops in Cardiff this year, in collaboration with Free Range Learning. Our aim was to make traditional, rural and sustainable skills more accessible to city dwellers in a fun, friendly and practical way.
Over the past year we have had so much fun delivering 13 of these workshops to so many of you. We’ve been sharing skills, learning new ones, meeting like minded folk and of course consuming lots of tea and homemade cake. We have learned so much; from what to grow in our small urban gardens, how to keep honey bees and make products from the hive, to how to repair our bikes and even keep chickens in our backyard. We have built an Earth oven at a community allotment, spun wool, made our own remedies, foraged for wild food and created lovely upcycled gifts and decorations…..phew we have been busy!
A huge thank you to all our wonderful tutors, participants and volunteers that made it happen. Also big thanks to the Abacus for hosting us and supporting our work. We are already planning our range of workshops for 2016, so keep your eyes peeled for new workshops and an exciting re-brand!
